My greatest influence probably came from viewing Miro's works in a visiting exhibit. I was struck by the harmony shown in what at first appeared to be almost random placements of colour.
My mother used to do water colour painting and her interest in art probably had an unconscious affect on me too.
When I first came back to photography 8 or so years ago I received a lot of encouragement in my compositions from a number of artist friends.
My compositions are a result of what I feel is right in terms of placement and toning rather than following the 'rules' of composition and framing.
I also belong to a small group where we critique and encourage each other in our various artistic endeavors - these include printing, painting, photography (obviously), installation and performance art.
I receive further encouragement, enjoyment and inspiration by visiting local art exhibits as well as on-line materials.
One of my aims is to see the beautiful and harmonious in the everyday scenes and experiences we usually take for granted.
Whew, that was a bit more than I expected to write when I started. Does it answer your question satisfactorily?
Kind of yes. I was hoping to hear of well known photographer who have influenced you. Your art has certainly influenced me! I never really got abstract till quite recently, now I look for it everywhere
Well no I'm afraid. I was taking abstract works for a while before I found other people doing it. I can remember my surprise when I found a photography book in the library which was full of the sorts of photos that I take - I wasn't alone!!
Actually, there are a number here on dA as well though it doesn't appear to have such popular appeal as other genres
Yes. I think that they are the sort of subject that I may have taken photos of. The shadows are what make them more interesting to me and maybe I would have processed them a little to emphasise them a bit more.

Have you seen my two latest efforts? Nothing much but they were fun to do!
Keep looking, photographing and experimenting
Anyway, great shot
